This year, Makarun proudly participated in “Splitska Trpeza,” a humanitarian gastronomic event held at Prokurative in Split that brought together local restaurants, hotels, and hospitality professionals in support of the Centre Juraj Bonači.
For the occasion, our team prepared and served more than 100 tasting portions of traditional makaruni with pašticada, one of the most iconic dishes of Dalmatian cuisine.
The event celebrated not only local gastronomy, but also community, generosity, and solidarity — values deeply connected to the spirit of hospitality.
As always, one of the main attractions at our stand was baba Tanja, who once again captured visitors’ attention by hand-rolling makaruni in front of guests throughout the event.
Many visitors stopped not only to taste the dish, but also to watch a tradition more than 300 years old come to life by hand.
Our team was especially honoured to receive praise from the mayor of Split, who recognised the importance of preserving local culinary heritage through public events like this.
At Makarun, we believe food has the power to bring people together — especially when prepared with care, tradition, and purpose.
